As to your fear over money, the acquisition of wealth is not in itself a
fearsome objective, it is a practical necessity. The problem with
wealth arises from inappropriate attitudes toward possessing and using
it. In this regard, you may find it helpful to read the Hidden Words
(Persian) numbers 80, 81 and 82. As in so many other aspects of
personal life, Bahá’u’lláh’s teachings provide a means
for safeguarding us from the test of wealth by ordaining the law of
Ḥuqúqu’lláh, providing the opportunity to contribute to
the Bahá’í Funds, and encouraging philanthropic
endeavors for the well-being of all.
